When is facade cleaning needed? 5 signs you shouldn't ignore
1. Green deposits or moss: algae and moss hold moisture against your facade, accelerating decay. In frost, the water acts as a wedge and damages the masonry.
2. Black stains or streaks: this usually indicates soot deposits or mould. Mould on a facade spreads and becomes harder to remove the longer it's left.
3. White efflorescence: white powder on brick is a sign of salt migration caused by moisture penetration.
4. Discolouration from traffic: facades along busy roads darken quickly from fine dust and soot.
5. More than 5 years without cleaning: even without visible problems, pollution builds up invisibly. Preventive cleaning every 3–5 years is the cheapest facade maintenance action you can take.
Call a professional: not every facade is suitable for high-pressure cleaning.
